This post is very disturbing. Please skip it if you are nervous or very impressionable. Aokigahara is a woodland at the base of Mount Fuji in Japan. Also called the Sea of Trees. It is the most popular place to commit suicide in the whole Japan. More than 500 people have taken their own lives in Aokigahara since the 1950s. For, example 78 bodies were found there in 2002. The trend has supposedly started after Seicho Matsumoto published his novel Kuroi Kaiju (Black Sea of Trees) where two of his characters commit suicide there. But already in the 19th century poor farmers went to this forest to commit suicide, because they thought their children would have more food to eat then. Every week police makes a raid in the forest looking for new bodies. And you can also read about it on the CNN website. Are you ready to take a look into the forest?

why is there on the last picture a selfmade tent or something that looks like that.. i thought they came there to die and not to have a camping trip made out of it
but it's pretty said to see people will take their lives for others to have better lifes. also to bad that it will take at least another 50 year or so before china get up its feet and comes with better life standards.
i ment japan btw. instead of china as i called it above this post [/right]
Japan and China are two entirely different countries and Japan's standard of life is pretty high. Life expectancy in Japan is also equally high on average. There are many ways where Japan is more developed than the United States even.
The problem with suicide is more of a cultural one than a "life quality" one. There are many cases where people who fall on hard times or who are disgraced in some way find it preferable to take the route of suicide.
O KURWA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
