these pictures show everything that is wrong with this country...probably the most fucked up place to be in the world...

carpets on walls -> just a tradition. although you have to understand that communism lowers your life standard to the point where you are left on the verge of survival...most of these apartments are in old,old, oooold apartment buildings with huuuge cracks on the walls, floor, ceiling...and fixing is not an option since the whole building is falling apart...laziness is a factor too hence putting a carpet to 'cover'...kind of like curing chicken pox with make-up :) refer to laziness to explain the gargantuan ('I've always loved this world, but never had a chance to use it in a sentence) amount of russian bride purchasing sites...being a whore is also a russian tradition...actually this is one of the main reasons their economy is still clinging...

fuuuuck.... 99% percent of theese pictures are very old (and awful by the way), so what u see is not Russia. it's USSR.
carpets on walls WAS a tradition, but reason was totally different (covering cracks is funny though)

judging by your nick, you're from russia obviously, so I can't blame you for not being able to properly speak or write in English - no biggie :) hence your confusion that I have combined 'whore' and 'gargantuan' in one sentence, whereas they are 2 separate sentences...not that it matters though :)

and the carpets on the walls is still very much happening - go check some of the most recent dating sites - it's ussr to its fullest! as for the cracks and the economy - obviously that was a mistake...however it has come to my attention that russians have a stick (or their own heads in lack of a stick) so far up their asses that any humor is way beyond their comprehension skills..
