Oil platform exploded near the coast of the United States

Similar incidents on the drilling rigs were not witnessed for more than 50 years.
On the platform Deepwater Horizon an explosion occurred. At the time of the tragedy there were 126 workers. 11 of them are declared missing. After two days of fire, the oil rig sank.

This is a sad, sad deal. My condolences to the families. :(

BP had just renewed their lease on this rig in Oct, 09 and starting September 2010. The lease contract was worth $544 million, a rate of $496,800 per day.
