Frighten to think people lived through that. but 10/10 for the pics.

...wow. Those are amazing pictures. I don't think many of us alive today can imagine what it must have been like fighting without satellite recon and modern weaponry. Imagine being excited to have a gun you didn't have to put a shell into by hand each time before you fired. Or being even more excited that you got a rifle that would automatically chamber the next round. WWII was one of the first modern wars where a lot of things made their first appearance. It would have been an amazing thing to be able to safely observe some of those battles, but I don't know if there was such a thing as "safe" during WWII.
